The Power I Had to Build

My resilience was not a gift; it was earned through the absence of a traditional safety net. Raised primarily by my grandmother, I did not grow up with the guidance or security of a conventional family environment. There were no parents to shape my understanding of the world or to cushion my falls. Instead, I had to learn life’s harsh lessons firsthand, navigating the complexities and cruelties of reality through my own personal discoveries. I learned that the world does not simply offer love or acceptance to the innocent or the hopeful. Instead, it tests you and requires you to build your own foundation of inner strength.

In other words, I had to become emotionally resilient not because it was handed to me, but because I had to forge it from the ground up. This is why I teach that emotional resilience is a choice. It is about deciding that you will not be reduced by what happens to you. It is about learning that your prospecting—your outlook, your approach to challenges—can either become your power or your prison.

Your first step is to schedule your initial appointment. 

Your initial evaluation session provides an opportunity for us to get to know each other, build rapport, share some background, and decide are we are a good fit for an honest, open, and trustworthy partnership. In addition, I will be able to answer your questions regarding services, confidentiality, and what to expect in our sessions. With your best interests in mind, we will decide together what will benefit you the most.

At the end of your first session, if you decide to move forward and work with me, you will be asked to schedule further appointments. At your second appointment, we will work with you to set goals for your overall direction and experience, and then begin working together towards achieving your vision
